Specific Camera Shots/Angles

Welcome back fellow bloggers! Today, with all our filming being complete, I would like to go over some of the camera shots and angles that have been taken over the course of all our filming days. These are some of our best scenes that we've taken, and I just love the way they've turned out. I'm hoping that you all feel the same!

Canted Angle / Over the Shoulder Shot

We'll start off strong with one of my personal favorites. This shot showcases the homeowner, played by our guest star Sebastian, waking up due to a mysterious loud noise, echoing from the outside of the house. The robbers, quickly trick the naive homeowner to fall back asleep, not giving him enough time to question why these complete strangers are in his house to begin with.

The reason we decided to film this scene over the shoulders of the homeowner was to showcase how powerless and confused he is when being suddenly woken up from his slumber. The canted angle adds a dizzying feeling to the scene, mimicking the lightheaded feeling of being abruptly woken up.

High Angle

Next up, this shot takes place when the robbers finally break into the house of the innocent homeowner. The scene showcases one of the robbers, played by Jonathan, splitting off from the rest of the group, in hopes of finding anything worth of value in the household.

The scene is filmed in a high angle, allowing the camera to showcase all the robbers very clearly. Additionally, the angle makes the robbers seem smaller, showcasing their inexperience when it comes to robbery, something which is emphasized and shown off throughout the film.

Two Shot

Last but not least, these shot is taken from when the robbers and our films hero, Power-Man, finally meet. The two characters, played by Jonathan and Yulian respectively, are complete opposites from one another, and the shot tries its hardest to showcase that to the audience.

The robber is shown wearing all black, a confused look on his face as his character sees Power-Man for the first time. On the other hand, Power-Man is shown with his colorful superhero costume in full display. The warm red shirt, and bright white cape are used to contrast against the dark clothing of the robber. This is done as a way to reflect the major differences between the two characters, with the robber being make serious about the situation, while Power-Man is more cartoony and childish.

Additionally, there is a giant and elegant painting of a river placed right behind the two characters within the scene. While not originally planned, it emphasizes the divide between the two characters, creating a metaphor for how different the two characters really are.
