Days Three of Shooting

Hello again bloggers! As I stated a few days ago, its official, we have finished filming! Time was slowly creeping up against us, and it was imperative that we wrapped up shooting as soon as possible. The way we were able to do this is simple, were able to wrap up the filming of our project with two consecutive back to back days of filming

While it was tiring to do, it was definitely worth it in the end as it gives me even more time to edit our masterpiece. Today, I would like to go over some of the highlights of our third day of  filming, highlighting the important things that we were able to achieve.

As  our third day of shooting began, the  first thing we did was to film multiple different angles of my home. You see, we had planned from the very beginning to start our film off with an establishing shot of my home. However, we had forgot to film said shot both days prior to this one. We have no idea how we were able to forget to film the shot both days, so we made it an absolute point that we would do so today,  hence why we filmed it first.

Afterward, we decided to try to reshoot some of the outdoor scenes. We had originally planned to do these outdoor reshoots on our second day of filming. However, because we began filming so late that day, we feared that if we were to film the with sun already going down, the lighting wlouldn't match up with the rest of the scenes that we had already filmed. So we made a mental note to reshoot these scenes during our next day of filming.

And so, after all the outdoor reshoots, we were finally satisfied with the way they turned out! So we took a short break to gather up our energy, and went right back to filming again.

Next up on our agenda, we began working indoors, the next couple scenes. The most noteworthy of them being the homeowner unsuspectingly sleeping as his home is being broken into. You see, as I stated in my most recent storyboard blogpost, we had to make the tough decision of removing the scene of the homeowner getting knocked out by the robbers. With that scene being removed, we decided to replace it with this new one.

While you may think this scene would be easy to film, in reality, it took multiple attempts to get the scene right. Not matter how many times we filmed the scene, it just wouldn’t come out right. It was a hassle, I think it took us around fifteen takes before we got it right.

Afterward, we continued filming multiple other scenes, and besides that initial hiccup, everything else went smoothly. With all of that out of the way, we finished our third day of filming being satisfied with our progress.
