Lighting
Hello bloggers! My group and I have official finished our second day of filming! Although its already been a couple days since then, I’ll save the details about the eventful day for another time. Insteadl I believe now is as good as a time as any to delve into the topic of lighting in my groups project, showcasing the different ways its being implemented.

Within our project, my group and I are using high key in much of our filming. The reasoning behind our use of high key lighting is quite simple. When we learned about lighting within films earlier on in the year, we learned that high key lighting is used when conveying happiness and positive emotions, something that we are trying to convey within our film, as it is supposed to be a comedy film.
This is also quite simpler for us as my house, our location for filming, has many parts to it where the ambient light is very bright, making it more practical for use while shooting, as it means we don't need to bring any 3-point lighting during the filming. While using the ambient lighting of my house is practical, it is also a choice regarding the mis-en-scène of our film, as we want the lighting the reflect how the location of the filming looks in reality, as a way to make the film feel more grounded to the audience.

Additionally, its important to note that we also used natural lighting during our days of filming. You see, there are many scenes that we have filmed that actually take places outdoors, such as when the robbers are breaking into the innocent house. Due to the scenes taking place outside, we thought it would be best to just use the daylight we had on our days of filming. This allows for warmer colors and environments to be used within our project, contrasting with the high key lighting used in the indoor scenes.
In the end, even though we aren't using any fancy technology or methods of lighting within our film, I think the lighting is turning out very well, and I just love the way it's turning out.
