Classmate Critique

Earlier this week, I critiqued the camera shots of two of my good friends, Yulian and Marcus. Today, I want to talk about the critiques that I gave them, stating what they did well with and what I think could use some working on.

Yulian

I first critiqued two shots from my dear friend Yulian. I first critiqued his Two Person Shot, where I stated that I liked the way it turned out but that next time, he should have his two subjects a little more apart, with them actually conversing, as it seems that one of the subjects, our friend Pedro, was distracted during the recording. I then commented on his Full Body Shot and stated that I had no complaints about it and liked the unique stance that the subject (Pedro once again) had struck for the shot.

Marcus

I critiqued two camera shots from my good friend Marcus. I said that his over-the-shoulder shot came out very well, with the angle allowing the viewer to see both subjects clearly and giving plenty of room for the background. I then critiqued his Low Angle Shot, stating that the angle perfectly points at his two subjects, making them seem more prominent. The only thing that I did not like about the two camera shots was the saturation and how it made the colors look too bright for my taste.
